What is Revenue Share?

An agreement where clip channel earnings are split between the clipper and the streamer. The most common arrangement is 50/50, but terms vary widely.

Revenue share (rev share) is a financial arrangement between a clipper and a streamer where the earnings generated by clip content are split between both parties according to agreed-upon terms. It's become the standard business model for professional clipping relationships.

The most common revenue share split is 50/50 — the clipper keeps half of all ad revenue from the clips, and the other half goes to the streamer whose content is being clipped. However, splits can range anywhere from 60/40 (clipper-favored) to 30/70 (streamer-favored) depending on factors like the streamer's popularity, the clipper's skill level, and whether the clipper is running their own channel or the streamer's official channel.

Revenue share deals typically come in two forms. In the first model, the clipper runs their own clip channel and sends a percentage of AdSense earnings to the streamer monthly. In the second model, the clipper uploads to the streamer's official clip channel and receives a percentage as payment for their editing work. Both models have pros and cons — running your own channel gives you more control but means you're building someone else's brand on your platform.

Getting a revenue share deal with a popular streamer can be life-changing for a clipper. A 50% rev share on a channel doing $10K/month in AdSense is $5K/month for editing work — and you can scale by working with multiple streamers. The key is demonstrating value: show the streamer analytics proving your clips drive growth, maintain consistent quality, and communicate professionally.

When negotiating rev share, always get the terms in writing. Even a simple contract or Discord DM agreement is better than nothing. Outline the split percentage, payment schedule (monthly is standard), who handles copyright claims, and what happens if either party wants to end the arrangement.
